FAQ
Wereldwijd bestaan er afspraken over de techniek en de nummers van chips voor dieren. Die afspraken zijn vastgelegd door ISO. In Europa worden voor huisdieren altijd FDX-B chipnummers gebruikt, maar ook buiten Europa zijn dit de meest gebruikte chips. De FDX-B chips gebruiken allemaal dezelfde techniek en de chipnummers zijn op een vaste manier opgebouwd. De nummers van een FDX-B chip bestaan altijd uit 15 cijfers. De eerste drie cijfers geven aan wie de chip gemaakt heeft (fabrikantencode) of in welk land de chip gebruikt is (landencode).

Voor het verplichte doormelden van een Nederlands chipnummer (528) is voor Honden altijd het UBN van de houder nodig. Dit UBN moet door de eigenaar zelf vooraf aangevraagd worden bij RVO. Hij/zij heeft daarvoor een geldig DigiD nodig. Voor andere gezelschapsdieren (kat en fret) moet je wel een paspoortuitreikings-melding naar RVO doorsturen, maar hoeft de eigenaar/houder geen UBN te hebben. Voor alle andere diersoorten is geen UBN nodig.
Via de registratiekaart in PetBase doe je een chip-aanbrengmelding
Log in op jouw chipper-account en ga in het Menu naar Houders-eigenaren. Zoek de houder op of maak hem aan en klik op de kaart met de gegevens van de dieren.gaat nu een dier toevoegen aan deze houder. Klik daarvoor op het vakje Complete Dierregistratie en volg de stappen.
